Description:Smallwood House is a family run bed & breakfast, offering quality 4 star accommodation in Ambleside in the heart of the Lake District. Our relaxed and friendly team have a passion for providing not just great accommodation, but great hospitality and many of our guests return year after year. Our 12 en-suite rooms are all stylish, very comfortable and individually furnished with under-floor heating in the bathrooms. We've received a Breakfast Award in recognition of our use of fresh local produce, our menu range and quality, along with our ability to get it perfectly onto your plate. Our guests have use of the luxury spa and swimming pool at a hotel just a few minutes walk away and we have a private car park and complimentary wifi. We are in the centre of Ambleside, a bustling and vibrant small market town offering a good selection of specialist shops, cinemas and great quality restaurants, bars and cafes. The high Lakeland fells beckon from our doorstep, and we can also help you find some pretty low level walks and waterfalls to explore. There are plenty of indoor visitor attractions nearby, including the homes of famous Lakeland literary figures like William Wordsworth or Beatrix Potter. From the pier at Waterhead in Ambleside you can take a boat trip or cruise on Windermere and our location makes us ideal accommodation for many local events, including the annual Great North Swim. For the more adventurous among you, we're within easy driving distance of Go Ape (at Grizedale or Whinlatter Forests) and the Climb 365 Outdoor Activity Centre. A new attraction for the motor enthusiast this year is the Lakes Charity Classic Vehicle Show in June.
