Description:Built in 1613 as the original village Grammar School, Laurel Cottage is a traditional family-run 4 star bed and breakfast. Reputedly the oldest building in the village, it is situated in a superb location right in the centre of Bowness. The Promenade at Bowness Bay is a true one-minute walk away with all its attractions and amenities. We have ample free car parking so leave your car and forget it. There are numerous bistro's, pubs, restaurants and takeaways to choose from - right on the doorstep. We offer various rooms from singles, doubles and family rooms to 4-poster double rooms where room service breakfast is served. All en suite rooms are well furnished with colour TV and refreshment tray. We can arrange - for that special occasion - flowers and champagne for your room. If you are finishing the Dalesway walk, Laurel Cottage is ideally placed at the end of the walk on the way into the village. Our delicious English breakfasts are prepared using fresh local produce- vegetarian and continental options easily available. Proprietors, Jason & Yui Turner will be glad to share their local knowledge and offer advice on walks and attractions. Children under 12 years not allowed, separate charges for children over 12 apply. Also our 5* Spa Facilities are available at a nominal charge of £3.50 per person for a full days pass. This is a 1 minute walk from Laurel Cottage & has had a 3 million pound up-grade, located at the Old England McDonald Hotel. Some rooms are subject to a 3 night minimum at weekends.

Directions:By car, leave the M6 jct 36, taking the A590/591 for Windermere, bypass Kendal. Turn left into Windermere, A5074, and drive down to Bowness, 1 mile. In centre of Bowness, turn left onto Kendal Road. Laurel Cottage is the 1st guest house on the left. Alternatively, if travelling by National Express coach or train to Windermere, Laurel Cottage is 1 mile from Windermere down to Bowness, via local bus or taxi.
