Stay in one of the Lake District’s most beautiful landscapes in our cosy and comfortable rooms. All our rooms have TVs with digital channels, a hot drinks tray, hair dryer and gorgeous Arran Aromatics bathroom goodies. Some of our rooms are suitable for travel cots and extra beds, and dogs are welcome.
We serve brilliant breakfasts with plenty of choice, using the best local produce, and for later in the day, the Woolpack, one of Cumbria’s most historic inns, and is being lovingly restored and refurbished. We’ve created a relaxed and welcoming inn, filled with great ales, hearty food, lots of laughter and a few surprises.
Our pub offers cosy corners around a wood burning stove and our menus use the freshest ingredients, inspired by the fantastic produce available on our doorstep. Our course, we offer a vast selection of local real ales and fine wines. If you’re in the mood for something different, our vodka bar stocks over 50 different flavours. The Hardknott Bar and Café at the Woolpack serves posh coffees and gorgeous cakes, pastries and scones as well as light bites throughout the day. In the evening, delicious homemade pizzas are made to order in our Italian wood fired oven.
Families are welcome throughout the Woolpack but particularly enjoy the large beer garden and outdoor play area. The Rainy Day Shop sells a selection of toys and games to entertain the family if the weather is less than perfect. Well behaved dogs are always welcome and we have special dog friendly breaks.

The roads will start to get narrower for 3.5 miles, then turn left for Eskdale and Whitehaven, just 300 yards after the mini Post Office.
