| Description: | Behind the exterior's old-world charm you'll find delightfully refurbished bedrooms and public areas. There's a leisure centre with indoor pool. The food is good, the staff are friendly and welcoming. In short, the ideal Lakeland base.
A village centre hotel with well-appointed en suite bedrooms, some with jacuzzi baths and views of the surrounding fells.
The newly refurbished restaurant is open for dinner each evening whilst lunches are available in the light and airy conservatory. Alternative dining is available lunchtimes and evenings in our Lamb Inn, a village pub serving real ales.
There is a small gym and an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi. We also have an in-house hairdressing salon.
Rooms are usually ready for occupation from 15.00 but later arrivals up to 23.30 are possible. If later arrival is anticipated guests are asked to phone the hotel and the night service staff will let you in. Departure time is 11.00. |

| Directions: | From the south exit the M6 at jct 36, then follow the A591 through Windermere and Ambleside to Grasmere. At the Grasmere roundabout turn left into the village and the Red Lion is in the centre. By train, take the train to Oxenholme, then change for Windermere. Continue by bus or taxi to Grasmere. |
