| Description: | The Lodge a Victorian stone building, originally a stable circa 1861, is situated at the foot of Skiddaw in its own 5 acres of spectacular Lake District countryside with splendid views towards Bassenthwaite Lake and the north western fells. You will find us on the A591 just 5 miles north of Keswick, a small market town having many interesting shops, restaurants and its own celebrated Theatre by the Lake. We are easily accessible to the M6 motorway and all routes to Scotland. The Lodge retains its Victorian character with pitch pine ceiling and an open log fire in the dining room, originally the coach room. The bar is the original stable stalls. Our food is made from carefully selected local ingredients and is cooked to order by our chef. Having enjoyed your evening meal, you may like to savour a cup of freshly ground coffee in our spacious conservatory, or perhaps sit out on the elevated terrace indulging in the glorious views of the surrounding fells. The 9 bedrooms, comfortably furnished and enjoying fine views, are fully en suite. |
