The area is ideal for exploring the traditional villages of Coniston and Hawkshead, never more than minutes away in the car, and no trip to this part of the Lakes would be complete without a stroll around The Jewel of the Lakes, Tarn Howes, an inspiring beauty spot and one attributed to bringing out the romantic side of many a man or woman! In terms of nearby facilities, The famous Drunken Duck Inn is a mere 1.5 miles away, a leisurely stroll although Hawkshead, Coniston and Ambleside all have the usual grocers, butchers, bakers as well as galleries, tea shops, pubs and restaurants.
Borwick Lodge has excellent facilities for the larger party, all presented in a traditional style and in keeping with the age of the property. Two lounge rooms and a pool room offer plenty of flexible living space particularly useful if your group is made up of different generations and all bedrooms offer an en suite shower or bathroom, again providing a good degree of privacy for all. The outside space is excellent too with plenty of seating areas and sufficient parking for at least 8 cars. Catering can be arranged in advance for the whole or just part of your week if required.
