| Description: | The cottage is a single detached unit in the courtyard of the original home farm of Moresdale Hall Estate and is a conversion of a former farmworker’s cottage and stable.
Visitors to the cottage may take advantage of the grounds which extend to approx 8 acres, mainly wild woodland and an area of grass immediately outside the french windows. The woodland supports a wide variety of birds, animals and plants including deer, badgers and the seasonal round of snowdrops, daffodils, bluebells and rhododendrons.
The approach to the property is over a stone arch bridge spanning a beck and waterfall.
There are many walks in the area and a favourite is the ascent of Lambrigg Fell via Moresdale Tarn to a height of just over 1000 ft above sea level with panoramic views of the Lake District Mountains, the Pennines and Morecambe Bay. The Dalesway long distance footpath is nearby and this can be followed in either direction to the Lune Valley or towards the terminus at Windermere.
