Description:Stay in 1 of our lovely self catering holiday cottages in the village of Gamblesby in Cumbria. Gamblesby is a tranquil, picturesque, unspoilt village located in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Beauty yet still near the edge of the Lake District National Park. Just one mile away from the scenic A686, which links Penrith to Northumberland via Alston, England's highest market town. From Melmerby, where you leave the main road to come to Gamblesby, the road climbs dramatically up the fell to Hartside viewpoint 1903 feet above sea level. The views here are spectacular, taking in the Eden Valley to the mountains of the Lake District and even southern Scotland. All our guests have shared use of the courtyard and front garden which has tables/benches and a barbeque. Off-road parking for 1 car/cottage. Storage for bicycles. One quiet, well-behaved dog welcome. Prices include bed linen, towels, heating and electricity. Bedding/towel for fold-away bed for 1 extra person £10. Cot and high chair available. There is no booking fee. Cancellation insurance is not included in the price.

Directions:From M6 jct 40 follow A66 east till next roundabout then A686 towards Alston. In Melmerby take left fork by caravan site signposted Gamblesby. Church Court Cottages are on the right; directly opposite St John's Church. The village is only served by public transport once a week.
